Our Icon Madhura Das Gupta Sinha, is the Founder & CEO of ‘Aspire For Her’(AFH), with a mission to change the diversity equation of India.

Prior to this she lived a life of a Banker, and lead in building one of India’s youngest banks. She worked in various business leadership roles including Business strategy, Team building, HR, Service quality, Finance and the list goes on…

During our conversation, she stated her goal was to impact the lives of a million young girls.  Her excitement, enthusiasm and enterprise are very evident as she has in a short span of a few months, already helped approximately fifteen thousand young girls between age 18-25 years.

Insights:

  1. Collaboration - It is the most beautiful element that brings respect, excitement and participation, thereby making it a movement.

  2. Intrinsic Motivation - For any project to succeed, it needs a deep-seated purpose-driven from the heart.

  3. Ruthlessness/creating firm boundaries - It is vital to work with people with shared vision and wavelength.

  4. Be Shameless in asking for help - You'll be amazed at how many people come forward when your vision and mission is humanitarian.

  5. Go beyond Yourself - Make it a universal mission and not about yourself.

  1. She wished she had started AFH sooner.

  2. Do not wait for a signal or push to start something. Go for it!

It was interesting to hear the focus of AFH is to work on the individual mindset of each girl into creating a winning mindset. This is being done through Mentorship, Education, Career Previews, Employment opportunities and Peer Community. These winning mindsets will then be catalysts of growth and change in the diversity equation of the country.

I feel privileged to be a Mentor for Aspire For Her and I look forward to my bit of contribution with a joint mission to make this world a better place to live.

‘Whatever you do, throw yourself into it.

Throw your head, heart and hands into it.’
