How to cope with mental and emotional burnout

In our world pre-Covid-19 crisis, everyone seemed to be in a rush. There was so much to do, and most people wished there were 48 hours in a day, or they could split in two to double up the work.
My question is, have we made our life as hectic by design to escape from ourselves?
Yes, our lifestyle requires more multitasking and long hours of work, but somewhere we have unconsciously wired ourselves towards being a checklist and ticking the boxes. It is essential to prepare for sure but are we forgetting to enjoy the process and the fruits of it?
I hear during my workshops from students that they are so worried about the next thing, that they often forget to focus on what they are currently doing. They do not have the luxury of pause and time for self.
Why have we taken on so much? Can we prioritize? Are we taking on some actions to prove to others and get validation of our capabilities from them?
Engagement requires connection; when we are connected, we work from a place of inner silence, clarity, and focus. We become creative, and our ideas flow, giving us satisfaction even if we feel tired. However, when we are busy and not consciously engaged, we get stressed, mental fog and confusion. Our productivity, peace of mind, and performance get shortchanged.
To live your own life you have to rethink your goals and let go of your old checklist.
